Before she became a household name with James Reid by her side, Nadine Lustre wanted to appear on ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash 2010’. In fact, she even auditioned to be on the popular reality show — in the same year as James himself!

We all know that James Reid began his acting career when he emerged as the ‘PBB: Teen Clash 2010’ winner, despite being tagged on the show as the “shy, quiet one.”

Nadine said in an interview: “Nag-audition ako kasi meron akong friend na gustong mag-audition. Nag-audition ako para lang masamahan ko siya. Tapos sabi, ‘Okay, we’ll update you.’”

Unfortunately, she wasn't called back. The actress relayed that, back then, she was with Pop Girls, a quartet that was handled by Viva Records. Their group was initially inspired by the emergence of all-girl singing groups in Asia, particularly in Japan and South Korea.

Nadine continued: “Ang tagal na [bago tumawag 'yung 'PBB']. Nasa Pop Girls na po ako nung may nag-text po sa akin ulit. I was with Viva already.”

Meanwhile, James said that, when he won the ‘PBB: Teen Clash 2010,’ he didn’t have any plans to venture into showbiz.

In Nadine's audition video that was released by ABS-CBN Entertainment, we can see her wearing a ruffled pink blouse with a fully made-up face.

“Hi po, I’m Nadine. Eldest po ako sa aming apat na magkakapatid. I have two brothers and a sister… um, ‘yung dad ko po walang work and ‘yung mom ko po businesswoman, pero wala po silang regular work,” she said demurely.
