Tuesday morning, actor Jake Cuenca was immediately rushed to the hospital while he was training around the vicinity of the Mall of Asia grounds.ABS-CBN News reported that according to his father, Juanto: "Si Jake kasi every morning, he trains for Ironman sa may MOA.”
“Biglang nagpreno ang isang malaking truck and he did not have time to break, so tinamaan niya yung truck. Dumiretso siya sa ospital. Nasa emergency room siya, nasa trauma.”
The driver brought the actor to the hospital and mentioned that his son is currently being treated.
Juanto continued: "Yung driver niya mismo [ang nagdala sa kanya sa ospital] because there were no ambulances on site. Sa Medical City, that's where he is now.”
“Meron siyang two broken bones on the hand. He had to have stitches in his chin. They are still continuing with the tests kung ano pa ang damage sa kanya.”
Juanto claimed that even though Jake is already conscious, he’s still in a lot of pain. The accident occurred around seven in the morning.
Jake is part of the upcoming ABS-CBN series "Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin" where he plays the role of a triathlete.
Apart from that, Jake has been known to be sports enthusiast, where he is a football for Team Socceroo FC in the Football League Division 2. The Football League Division 2 is the United Football League of the Philippines.
He claimed that he being addicted to sports was due to the fact that he had a weight problem back in his childhood. The actor has done mixed martial arts and boxing as well, apart from being active in football.
